About Me
I am a social work scholar, consultant, and thought leader with nearly two decades of experience in violence prevention, organizational systems, and ethical technology design. My career has spanned directing multi-million-dollar evaluations, mentoring diverse professionals, and developing innovative, trauma-informed solutions to complex social challenges.
I also serve as the face and key thought partner for an AI-enabled system designed to detect physical aggression through skeletal motion modeling while preserving privacy. My role has been to shape the system’s ethical framework, guide its research and evaluation, and bring its story to stakeholders, funders, and the public.
This unique vantage point—bridging academic rigor, clinical expertise, and AI innovation—allows me to help organizations transform their most pressing risks into opportunities for leadership. I don’t just study violence prevention; I partner with companies, agencies, and communities to design safer systems, reduce liability, and build trust.
What I Do
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What kinds of organizations do you work with?
I partner with eldercare facilities, healthcare systems, AI/tech companies, and agencies that want to strengthen safety, reduce liability, and lead on ethical monitoring.
Q: How is your work different from other consultants?
My background bridges social work, research, and AI innovation. I combine two decades of expertise in violence prevention with hands-on experience shaping iCare, a patented AI system for detecting physical aggression. This unique lens allows me to address both human impact and system design.
Q: Do you only work with eldercare companies?
Eldercare is often the most immediate fit because of regulatory oversight and monitoring infrastructure, but I also consult in healthcare, residential care, child welfare, and tech sectors interested in ethical AI development.
Q: Isn’t violence detection risky for companies?
Ignoring it is riskier. My consulting helps organizations create policies, protocols, and PR strategies that turn violence detection into a strength—reducing liability, protecting residents, and demonstrating leadership.
